Welcome to Year 4, 4DO and 4CF. Our Year 4 team this year is Mr Obada, Miss Foxall, Mrs Naheem, Mrs Higgins and Ms Hopkinson. We’re excited to begin the new year and new term with you!
This term in English, we will be studying Charlie and the Chocolate factory, by the extremely well know Roald Dahl. We will immerse ourselves in the text, meet some quirky characters and be inspired to write some of our very own pieces of work based on the story.
At the start of the term, we will be recapping our place value knowledge before moving onto the four main mathematical functions; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. There will be lots of hands-on activities and we will even be going outside to do some of our activities too.
Our first geography unit topic will be Water, weather and climate and within this we’re going to be exploring the water cycle. We will be doing some research during this unit on how water, weather and climate could impact the world. Click on the picture to find out more about the water cycle!
Year 4 pupils will also develop their scientific skills and knowledge in our Animals and Humans unit. They will conduct experiments and find out how our learning links to real life skills and careers.
