KIRFS

What are KIRFS?

KIRFS stands for Key Instant Recall Facts.

They are number facts that your child needs to know in order for them to build upon their understanding in other areas of maths.

They are mental strategies that you can support your child in learning at home.

In your child’s reading diary you will find a slip of paper that tells you which KIRF your child needs to learn.

You can click on the buttons below to find the KIRF.

ne games that you and your child can play to develop their understanding too.

How do you use a KIRF?

Each KIRF has images to show you how your child would learn that skill in school through concrete, pictorial and abstract learning.

They also have questions that you could ask your child (with answers of course!)

They also have key vocabulary that your child will need to understand in order to learn the facts.

Finally, they have some ideas that you could do to help your child to learn the facts at home as well as website links to online games that you and your child can play to develop their understanding too.
